Drummer legend Sachin Tendulkar is considered one of the greatest drummers of all time. The former captain of India, besides being a master with the willow in his hands, was also an excellent field player and a practical spinner. Tendulkar’s abilities on the court, however, were more often than not overshadowed by his magnificent staff.

Tendulkar once made an absolute stunner when he sent former Pakistani captain Inzamam-ul-Haq into an ODI match between India and Pakistan in 2004. It was during the 2004 Indian tour in Pakistan where Sourav Ganguly was leading. men in blue against Inzamam & Co. in the series consisting of five ODIs and three Tests.

In the decisive fifth ODI of the series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Sachin pulled off an incredible hold on the border rope to clear Inzamam and turn the game in India’s favor. Pakistan were chasing a huge goal of 294 races and had been reduced to 3/25 in seven passes before Inzamam stabilized the ship.

He added 33 points for the 4th wicket with Younis Khan (12) before being returned on 38 out of 51 balls by Murali Kartik. Inzamam opposed Kartik by trying to send him for a long time, but ended up being caught by Tendulkar on the border rope. In what was a great show of athleticism from the Master Blaster, he not only saved a number of sixes, but also secured the departure of Inzamam.

After Inzamam’s sacking, the match began to slip out of Pakistani hands, but Shoaib Malik (65) and Moin Khan (72) staged a valiant retaliation to scare India into their hunt for the ruined. The duo added 99 points for the seventh wicket and managed to keep the hosts in the chase.

However, the Indian bowlers buckled Pakistan’s tail in no time after leaving to narrow the hosts to 253 and set up a dominant 40-point victory for India. India went on to win the 5-game series 3-2 with the big win.
