Hollie kicked off the discussion by saying: If there’s one thing about your wedding day that you could change, what would it be?
She shared a photo of herself wrapped in a tablecloth and tied around the waist with what appeared to be someone’s tie.
âI didn’t think I would need a second dress, but I couldn’t wait to take my wedding dress off,â she explained. âBut that’s not what I would change. Our DJ was disappointing, I would pick a new DJ if I could.
Another unfortunate bride said she would have hired another photographer if she could have stepped back in time.
âShe was too busy taking pictures of my harpist and my bridesmaids to take the picture of my father walking me down the aisle. It breaks my heart because my father has passed away now, âshe recalls. “And I only have one photo of us from the side my friend managed to capture.”
Another said: âI booked a Daimler limo, his wife called to say he was on his way and to wait outside. I waited and waited, he didn’t come. We were at my mom’s house and my brother and I closed the back door so we were stuck outside waiting and it was a very hot day.
âI had to take a ride with my mother’s neighbor and later found out that the driver had been arrested for drunk driving. I was an hour late for my wedding.
A flood of responses to the thread said they wished they had taken more photos or had a videographer to capture their day
âIf I had to change one thing⦠I would change the time we got married earlier to make the day last longer,â added a third.
Another said: âIf I could go back I would have had a videographer. I was adamant I didn’t want it and have regretted it ever since. Especially since our photographer sucked.
Many revealed that the biggest regret of their wedding was at the reception, with some wasting money on guests who didn’t come and others hating the music played by their DJs.
For another bride, it was her choice of underwear that was the problem.
One of them wrote: âMy panties. I wore G string rhinestone panties for our UK reception (we got married overseas) and as soon as I got out of the car on arrival I felt that ‘ping’ as one of the links broke and my panties slipped down my leg.
Others expressed issues with their DJs and problematic guests that made their reception disappointing
Luckily our driver was a friend and I rushed over to the driver’s side with the car protecting me, looked at her and apologized, shimmy to drop them to my ankles and I came out of them asking him to discreetly throw them in a trash can. I was a commando for the rest of the night.
Another said: âI would have gotten rid of our group. We didn’t have a lot of people who stayed / came in the evening and the group seemed not to bother to put in the effort as there weren’t a lot of people.
âAlso we had a song that was different for our first dance and they said they could play it live and then a few days before the wedding they said they would only play the song we have for them. sent.
âWe ended up with three of us going up and asking for songs that they just glued to rather than playing them live. Another good evening, but it was the guests who made it a good evening.
