Restored by FordâSteve Ford is a married man!
The renovation pro married his three-year-old girlfriend Andrea Cargill on Sunday in a “winter woods”-inspired ceremony at a resort outside of Pittsburgh, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.
“I am [so excited] be married to Andrea, âsays Ford, who plays alongside his sister, designer Leanne Ford, in their HGTV series. “I look forward to starting a family and living together as a husband and wife.”
Steve and Cargill were friends for several years before falling in love. The couple, who both share a passion for adventure and the outdoors, got engaged less than a month ago.
Steve asked the question on Nov. 11, surprising Cargill with a proposal in their backyard with his grandmother’s ring, which was passed down to his family. They did not publicly announce their engagement.

“When you know, you know. We’ve been together for three years and we thought it was time to make it official,” Steve says of the short engagement. “Why wait any longer? “
Embracing both Steve’s and Cargill’s appreciation for nature, the ceremony was held outdoors at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, surrounded by the Laurel Mountains of Pennsylvania. A small number of friends and family were in attendance, and a natural waterfall was the beautiful backdrop to their âI doâ.
The group went inside for the intimate reception, held at the resort’s acclaimed restaurant, Helen’s, located inside a rustic-chic 1930s cabin that the original owners of the resort considered their home.
The space was decorated with moody candles, fresh greenery, dark wood features, and a blazing fireplace. To make things a little more personal, Steve covered the restaurant’s logo with a sign that said “The Fords’ Love Shack” because the B-52’s “Love Shack” is a favorite Ford song. He also brought an oversized disco ball – one of Fords’ iconic design moves – to hang in the restaurant while guests danced the night away.
Despite their non-traditional wedding planning, the couple closely followed a few wedding standards throughout the day. âI love classic wedding traditions and plan to do a lot of them on our big day,â Cargill told PEOPLE before the wedding.
âMy dad gives me, we are married by a pastor who is a close friend of the Ford family and we are going to make the first toast, cut the cake and toss the bouquet,â she explained. “I’m also doing” something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue “for good luck.”

The couple were also lucky when they realized that the best day for their wedding also fell on another special date: Steve’s birthday.
âWe weren’t planning on getting married on my birthday – it just happened like that,â Steve says. “The good news is, I’ll never forget our anniversary so it’s awesome!”

While they don’t have any plans for their honeymoon yet (âI don’t know where we’re going or what we’ll do, but it’s going to be awesome,â Steve says), they’re excited to start this new chapter. before the new year.
âSteve is the love of my life and I’m so excited to get married, have a family and spend the rest of our lives together,â Cargill said. “He makes me happy and we bring out the best in each other.”
âAndrea is happy and it’s great to be with such a happy person,â Steve said of his new wife. “She’s also caring and the nicest person I know, inside and out. She brings love and joy to my life, and she’s always up for a new adventure.”
