Keanu Reeves’ latest sighting comes from Northampton, England, where the actor is appearing at the couple’s wedding reception.
John Wick star Keanu Reeves is again. Spreading joy to unsuspecting fans with his presence, that is. The actor has made non-entertainment headlines for things like rescuing Octavia Spencer, donating his Matrix income for cancer research and for his encounter with a young teenager at an airport, which went viral. Apparently, Reeves is always in an obliging mood. James and Nikki Roadnight had just exchanged their wedding vows at Fawsley Hall over the weekend when James discovered Reeves was a guest at their quaint hotel. James Roadnight asked the actor if he wanted to join in the celebration and was shocked when he agreed. Nikki Roadnight told Newsweek:
“My husband saw him at the bar and told him he had just gotten married and invited Keanu to come say hello and have a drink with us if he wanted. He was very friendly and said he would do it later. We didn’t know if he would or not, but it was cool that my husband talked to him!”
Shortly after, she was informed that a “very special guest” was looking for her. It was the The rapidity star himself.
Keanu Reeves, the ultimate wedding guest
Smitten, the newlywed changed her Twitter profile picture to an image of her and the 57-year-old actor on the cover of a Regency romance novel. When a friend pointed out that she may be neglecting James, Nikki defended her decision.
“Mr. Roadnight will only care for a few days.”
The new Mrs. Roadnight added in her interview with Newsweek:
“It was very exciting, and I went to say hello and introduce myself, and offered him a drink, but he refused and said he had just had a long flight, so he wouldn’t be staying long, but he was so nice and friendly and congratulated us on our wedding. He was kind enough to take some photos, and our wedding photographer was able to capture some too! Then he took the time to talk to some of our guests and to take more photos! Keanu Reeves dropping by to say hello was just out of this world. Something to remember and the start of many more adventures together.”
The happy couple weren’t the only ones whose day was brightened by Keanu Reeves. As the actor and others shared a meal at Fox and Hounds in Charwelton in Northamptonshire on Wednesday, village pub manager Danny Ricks said he had to ‘do a double take’ and waitress Laura James added that they “managed to keep it together” while serving Keanu Reeves. Ricks described Reeves as follows:
“A lovely, down-to-earth guy” who was “really nice to everyone. Everything you would think nice about him was absolutely true.”
Dianne King, who lives in the village and was at the pub with her husband Jason, said at first she didn’t realize it was Reeves, “so obviously I had to go ask her 10 times ‘is that really you?'”
She said he and the people with him were “lovely”.
King added, “My husband and I are always on top – what an honor and what a lovely man.”
