Bros: release date, trailer and everything we know

When you think of some of the great romantic comedies that have come out over the years, the movies that come to mind are A pretty woman, When Harry Met Sally, never been kissed, The wedding planner And the list continues. Hoping to join this group is Brothersa film about a man disenchanted with the process of finding love who finds love with a guy he initially thinks is out of his league.

What makes this project unique is the fact that it’s being promoted as “the first major studio rom-com about two gay men” and features a core cast who all identify somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Hopefully the film’s nuance paired with constant moments of laughter will set the stage for Brothers to one day join the pantheon of his genre.

What is the release date of Bros?

Brothers is set to premiere nationwide in the United States on Friday, September 30. Once we get a bit closer to the release date, you can visit fandango (opens in a new tab) to see where the film is playing near you.

In the UK, the film debuts in cinemas on Friday, October 28.

What is Bros talking about?

The official synopsis provided by the film’s website states the following:

“This fall, Universal Pictures proudly presents the first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men who may be stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy.

“From the fierce comic wit of Billy Eichner (Billy in the street2019 The Lion King) and filmmaker genius Nicholas Stoller (the Neighbors movies, Forget Sarah Marshall) and Judd Apatow (The King of Staten Island, Rail accident), come Brothersa smart, swooning, heartfelt comedy about the difficulty of finding another tolerable human being to go through life with.”

Who is in the cast of Bros?

Billy Eichner paves the way for casting as Bobby. Eichner didn’t just write the Bpink script, but he has already starred in american horror story, American crime history and Dickinson. His voice will likely be recognizable to some since he lent it to Mr. Ambrose’s characters in Bob’s BurgersTimon in 2019 The Lion King and Bigman in Green eggs and ham.

Joining Eichner onscreen are Luke Macfarlane (spoiler), Ts Madison (The Ts Madison Experience), Monica Raymond (chicago fire), Guillermo Diaz (Law and order: organized crime), Guy Branum (The Mindy Project) and Amanda Bearse (Married with children).

Some other notable actors making an appearance, though not considered part of the main cast, are Debra Messing (will and grace), Bowen Yang (Fire Island) and Kristin Chenoweth (BoJack Rider).

Nicholas Stoller is the project director. Stoller is no newcomer to Hollywood having already directed Neighbors, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Forget Sarah Marshall and Platonic. He is also credited with co-writing the Brothers Screenplay with Eichner.
