Big Rock Creek is a historic place where families and friends come for old-fashioned fun – not just to see, but to experience and feel the beautiful and unique environment. Purchased around 1914 by a group of businessmen (including Horace “Gokey” Thompson, Allan Siems, and Claude siems), Big Rock Creek Trout Farm held License # 10 from Trout Farm in the State of Wisconsin. The trout living at Big Rock Creek feed many of the streams that are so popular in the west! America’s upper echelons that built America’s railways, started oil companies, and defined separate states, came together and stayed here to escape and be surrounded by other elite rulers.

The picturesque property has extraordinary panoramic views of the beautiful countryside and has trout ponds, lake and stream, lotus pond which is well worth the hike to see water lilies, woods and plenty of trails. Expect a plethora of wildlife including deer, black bears, trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes, mallards and more. Stroll through the stable where you can feed and pet the famous Maggie, the friendly Scottish Highlanders cow that has become a popular staple for visitors.

Live the nostalgia for the 200 year old woods that were used to build the Lyon. Originally it was a traditional barn, one of the largest barns in the west Wisconsin at the time it was built. The antlers consist of old railway sleepers and trestles, and they bear stamps indicating their origin. Today it is no longer a traditional barn but rather used for many events. Nowadays, the Lyon, in reference to the train station, Gare De Lyon, has become the main attraction for all visitors to Big Rock Creek.

The majestic 1,000-acre property is just 5 minutes north of the beautiful St Croix Falls, WI and 45 minutes from The twin cities, north-east of the picturesque St Croix river. Many guests have come to take advantage of the property for vacations or family reunions, retreats, fishing and hunting trips, parties, holiday festivals, and many have declared themselves in love with each other and falling in love with each other. are launched in their “happy ever after” celebrating their wedding and beautiful reception.
