Benino Iannantuono Obituary (2022) – Thorold, ON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benino Iannantuono on Tuesday March 2, 2022 in his 87th year. He passed away peacefully and with dignity on his 65th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Pasqualina. Loving father of Frank Iannantuono (Karen) and Mario Iannantuono (Tracy). Proud grandfather of Vanessa (Andrew), Tyler, Luke and Andrea. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins ​​in Canada, the United States and Italy. Benino will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his sister Dalfa (late Domenico): Italy, his brother Adelio (Paolina), his brother-in-law Luigi (late Josephine) Moccia and his sister-in-law Dahlia Moccia. Benino is predeceased by his parents Francesco and Addolorata Iannantuono, his sister Orlandina (Antonio), his brother Alberto (Angelina), his brothers-in-law Carmine Moccia (Christina) and Nicola Moccia.

Benino worked for the City of Welland for over 20 years. He was known for his dedication, commitment and tireless work ethic throughout the city of Welland. After a good day’s work, Benino returned home and cultivated and maintained his beautiful garden, the fruits of which were appreciated by many. Benino was a dedicated member of Comitato della SV Madonna of Ellassunta, which raised countless funds for St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His expertise in barbecuing sausages for several of his friends at the Italian Cultural Festival was second to none.

His family will receive friends and guests at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Highway 20) on Sunday March 06 from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his eternal life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 07 at 11:00 a.m. with an entombment to follow.
