Alexia Echevarria recalled feeling ‘what else can go wrong’ on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Miami when event planner Guerdy Abraira told her that her wedding venue could not accommodate her.
The moment came shortly after an extremely heated and emotional family discussion. So Echevarria admitted that she briefly broke down in tears because she was basically exhausted from all the twists and turns. “Well, pretty much,” she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “That’s how we already felt.” But she quickly pivoted during the episode and shared that she just wanted to have fun that night.

Echevarria said Abraira broke the news to her after she and the rest of the cast had been drinking. “Well, first of all, I had been drinking, so it was already a lot,” she recalls. “It was a long day and we had like a sleepover and it was like, you know, a girl thing. And when I go out with my girls and my girlfriends, I like to have fun and I don’t want to have, you know, an intelligent conversation or it gets heavy.
“I’m really looking for that moment to have a drink and kind of like to relax and disconnect,” she added. “But, for me, there is no disconnect right now. So, of course, I had to end like that with Guerdy giving me the bad news that the room had pulled out because they couldn’t accommodate us.
She remembers recovering quickly and having a good night
Echevarria said she had a moment of anger, but quickly realized the loss of the hall might not have been meant to be. “But if you know my life, it’s kind of planned,” she said. “Even though I don’t live my life like that. I’m super positive. I am super optimistic. You know what? I just like to roll with the punches.
“It’s like, OK well, it happened. You know what? It’s not that bad,” she thought to herself. ‘accept and move on. That probably means I’ll find a much better place that I’ll be happier with. That was always my attitude, but obviously I just wanted to cry. I was like, OK, like what else [can go wrong]?”
She laughs as she remembers the board game board that Lisa Hochstein had suddenly presented to the group. “So what you see is that I think that’s my secret,” she said. “You know, I have the ability and the ability to move on. To stand up and be like, OK, I had this moment. But I was able to say, you know what I I’m not going to manage now. You’re not going to rob me of my fun and joy right now. I’m going to keep having fun with the girls and I’ll deal with that tomorrow.
