Leroy West of Xavi Row Bespoke designed his own tuxedo, shirt and shoes, then did the same for his groomsmen.
Your wedding (and all the festivities surrounding it) should be about embracing your personal style, whatever that means to you. Maybe you’re hyper-focused on the decor. Maybe food is your thing. Or, maybe it’s your ensembles, like this super chic couple. The groom is the owner of the Best of Philly award-winning Xavi Row Bespoke suit store, and he designed his and his groomsmen’s tuxedos, shirts and shoes. There were a few costume changes (for the bride and groom) and some major photo moments. Armando Lara pictured the fashionable falls banquet wedding below.
It was written in the stars that the couple from Germantown Yolanda Patterson and Leroy West would have a cutting-edge wedding. After all, he is the bespoke suit designer behind Xavi Row Bespoke. And when they first met (through mutual friends in college), Yolanda, a licensed practical nurse, was impressed by their vibe.
“He walked into the room with a suit, confidence and the most charming smile I’ve ever seen,” she said. And Leroy loved her style and her red hair. Their first date took them to Continental Mid-town and the Ranstead Room, and was followed by almost five years of dating before Leroy popped the question – by having a chic photo shoot at Morris Arboretum in June 2020 (Read their story here.)
They dated for a year and three months before saying “I do” at the banquet in Falls, a scenic Bucks County venue with a tree-lined outdoor ceremony area and sleek indoor event space. Around 100 friends and family were in attendance for the celebration, along with a large virtual contingent via Wedfuly. (The couple originally hoped to invite 300 attendees but reduced their guest list due to concerns surrounding COVID.)
And everyone was, naturally, dressed to the nines. Yolanda donned a Martin Thornburg dress for the ceremony and a fun Andrea Pitter dress for the reception. And Leroy not only designed his own tuxedo, shoes and shirts — including his No. 2 purple tuxedo — but also those of his groomsmen.
Equally glamorous: the decor, one of Leroy’s favorite pieces. “We’ve been planning everything all year, but you still don’t expect to see how amazing everything is when put together,” he says. Yolanda agrees, highlighting Ury’s floral design, “From the outdoor ceremony to the reception, Ury’s created an incredible ambiance.”
Some of the unique decor elements included the sweetheart table and the backdrop of cascading flowers, staged in front of the interior waterfall of the falls. The cake and dessert display was another gorgeous feature, with its own floral arch and gold accents.
The biggest surprise? The fireworks at the end of the evening. “Our guests kept talking about it for weeks,” says Leroy.
By the way, the wedding theme was Purple Royalty and The West Is Yet to Come—we can only agree.
